I got two vaccine shots at once when I was little boy.
They made you sit in a chair with a nurse on each side ready to poke a needle in your arm.
There was a line of kids behind you, and on each side of where i sat they were all crying and screaming, even the kids that still needed to get a shot.
The nurse told me to get brace myself, but they both had already poked it in before I could.
But like all the other kids I did not cry or scream i just sat there looking at the light coming from the entrance.
After it was done I remember the nurse telling me
“its okay to cry or shout, if you want”, so I did both for a short moment.
Thinking about that now makes me wonder if she might have some psychological disorder where she tells people what they forgot or could still do after its too late.
Right when the butcher had cut the meat and weighted it on the scale and lied down a piece of paper and slapped the meat on it she would tell him,
“You can wrap that up for me, if you want.”
While she waits to cross the streets she would tell the blind man next to her right after the light goes to green and the ticking sound from the pole starts and he is about to cross the street.
“You can walk now, if you want.”
Right after the florist was done wrapping her bouquet she would tell her
“You can tell me to cut them sideways and put them in some water, if you want.”
At the bakery she would tell them
“You can ask me if I need anything else, if you want.”
After a long day she goes home and makes diner for her family and while they sit at the table and are ready to eat.
Her son had just put his fork with a pile of food on it into his mouth when she says something like “You can chew that now, if you want.”
Her husband was already done chewing so she told him
“You can swallow now, if you want.”
