Trudy was walking down her street with a bundle of envelopes with nothing but the occasional cloud in the sky, it sure was a beautiful day.
Birds were chirping and the wind was making the leaves on the trees shake, creating a relaxing sound as she walked over to the mailbox.
She deposits the envelopes and as she closes the lid she hears something close by.
It was a loud thud, she turned around and saw a small grey cloud going up into the air just above the hedge in front of her.
She wanted to know what was happening on the other side, she clawed her way through and as she got out up by her waist, she looked like a curious apple worm.
She is looking the other street on the other side of the hedge and sees a house with tables filled with old things on them and a large sign that says ‘Yard Sale.’
Trudy because of her enthusiasm when it came to yard sales, wiggled the rest of her body through the hedge.
She walked over to the house, the sound created by her pink spandex pants rubbing together got the attention of a young woman.
The woman greeted her by nodding her head, Trudy walked onto the lawn.
She walked up to the set of tables and her eyes immediately fell on a odd looking device that made her think of a foot bath.
When she tried to pick it up she created a static discharge between the tip of her finger and the weird looking foot bath.
It turned on with lights flashing and the top part started to spin in circles until it made a strange noise and smoke came out of its sides.
“You break it. You buy it.”, A young woman’s voice behind her said.
Trudy was momentarily dazed, “But what is it?” She asked.
The young woman stood next to her and began to explain, “It’s a pet toilet, for people with busy lives that can’t walk their dog or for those with pets that want do their business in comfort.”
“Looks like a foot bath to me.”, Trudy replied.
“And now that you broke it, it is just that. That will be 5 bucks.”, The young woman said with a hint of irritation.
She took her loss and continued looking at everything on the table before continuing to the next.
A mysterious looking device was calling her like a white line of cocaine calling a junky.
This time to not destroy the object she gently picked it up and studied it.
It had lots of buttons and switches on it, probably a universal remote, she thought to herself.
She liked it even though she has no idea what it did, she asked the woman how much it cost.
The woman replied, “That one is 10 bucks, but you need to get that welding helmet over there too.”, She pointed at a another table, “Because it will shoot out small pieces of metal when it fixes just about any leak or crack you can think of.”
“What kind of products are these?” Trudy asked.
“My grandfather was an inventor these all are his inventions.”, The young woman explained while taking money from someone.
“Then why don’t you patent the good ones?” She smartly asked.
“If there were any!” She laughed.
“Excuse me, how much for this vacuum cleaner?” Another lawn-shopper asked.
The young woman turned around, “Thats a mouse catching machine, it sucks in the mouse and it lands in a cage you can take out of the bag compartment.”, She explained.
It clearly confusing the lawn-shopper who placed the item back and left.
Trudy looked at the device again, and wonder if it will work on the old television set in her bedroom.
She couldn’t help but press a big red button but nothing happened.
Maybe it needs batteries, she thought to herself.
“Do you have this one in blue?” A lawn-shopper on the other side of the lawn asked.
The young woman seemed instantly aggravated again, “Thats a microwave that can also dry clothes, and why would we, this is a yard sale you’re not in the mall.” She shouts back.
Then the ground begins to shake and the sounds of sirens screaming comes from the back yard of the house, lights on the corner of the roof begin to flash and spin like police sirens.
The roof slides open and smoke comes out, and something emerges.
A gigantic robot showed itself from the smoke and took a big step over the house into the lawn and marched over to the two women who look up at it with their mouths wide open in amazement.
With each step it took the ground shook tremendously and junk fell off the tables onto the freshly chopped grass.
A strange beam of light came out of it’s forehead and the young woman father’s inventions were floating in the air and flew towards the robot that started putting them into empty parts of his body.
It then lifted Trudy up who began to scream and shout words not safe for a young audience, it finally put her down into what appeared to be a cockpit.
“A gigantic robot for just 10 bucks? This is why I love yard sales!” Trudy said right before she flew the robot into the sky.
Later that day Trudy defeated a giant mutant dinosaur that was destroying the city.
And later than year Trudy and her metal friend saved the planet from a bunch of blue aliens that were trying to blow up the planet with their dead rays.
