“Oh wow, yes you two make such a lovely couple.”
He tells the young couple he just took photos of.
They buy the photos from him, this is how he earns a living.
He likes taking pictures of young couples in love, and makes just enough to pay his rent.
But he also wants to make people feel better about themselves by taking great pictures of them.
So he walks busy streets in the center of town all day and night.
Taking pictures of people on request and sometimes when they don’t even notice and tries to sell them it.
He earns only a small living but he’s fine with that, he’s single and is good with the ladies.
But is clueless on why they never want to go out with him but in the eyes of most of them he is a poor and unsuccessful fellow and his hands are too small.
None of that keeps him down, he just continues taking pictures.
At night the streets and terrace are filled with people.
He prints the pictures he sells using a small portable printer that he carries in his backpack.
After a good night of selling photos and making people smile he goes to the beach for a break, to breath in some fresh ocean air.
He ponders his mind about his life and wonders if he’s doing the right living.
He sits in the sand watching the moon shine on the ocean in front of him.
Wondering if he is doing the right thing with his life, or should just get a ‘real’ job.
Some crabs are digging in the sand and next to him he sees a silhouette.
Looking at the long hair moving by the wind and soft reflections on the lips he can tell its a girl.
The beam of light from the lighthouse close by swings over the beach and illuminates the mysterious girl.
For a short moment he could see her in all her beauty but she doesn’t notice him watching her yet.
He grabs his camera and waits for the light beam to pass by her again.

The perfect shot and as the light passes him and reaches her again he sees her looking directly at him.
He wants to explain why he took a photo of her without permission and not to seem like some kind of pervert.
But before he could get up to talk to her, she had gotten closer and spoke to him in a sweet voice.
“That must have made a awful picture, will your camera be all right?”
“No I… don’t think it did, I mean make a bad picture.
But we can take a look.” He grabs his laptop from his backpack and connects the camera to it.
The photo begins to load on his screen she takes a seat next to him.
When the photo is done loading he is the witness of the most amazing thing he had ever seen.
She keeps saying how bad she is looking in it, but he didn’t hear what she had been saying.
He looks up to where her face was and waits for the light to dance over it again just to make sure its all real.
She asks him “So what are you looking?”
Her face is perfectly visible and he replies “To the most beautiful thing I have ever photographed.”
“Please delete it.” She asks him holds back her smile.
The light passes them again, showing her cheeks blushed red.
“It would be such a shame.” He tells her.
“For four years now I have taken photos of hundreds of girls.
Not one of them were as pretty as you.”
She digs her feet into the sand “Are you hitting on me.”
“I’m just speaking my mind, not that I wouldn’t hit on you. But my intentions are good.” He tells her.
“So what do you do at a beach at night?” She asks him.
He replies “I work, I take photos of couples and try to sell the photos to them.”
“Wow! I sort of do the same thing!” She tells him, laughing afterwards.
So far he has managed to hold of the destruction of his best photo.
“For extra money I draw tourists on the beach and boardwalk. I’m saving up money for art school.” She tells him.
Both fascinated by each other they hold of talking while they look back at the photo.
He prints it out with the small printer and hands it to her.
“Free of charge.” He tells her.
She takes of her shoulder bag and searches through it and takes out a sketch book and some pencils.
“We’ll trade, I will draw you and you can keep the drawing.” She tells him.
“Deal!” He says smiling a bit uncomfortably.
With each beam of light she draws another line as they talk about all kinds of things.
When she is done he looks at the drawing and is amazed by her skill and his mind wanders off into the paper.
Suddenly her lips and his are touching.
They kiss until the fall asleep on the beach.
The next morning a coast guard wakes them.
“You can’t sleep on the beach, it’s against the law. Get out of here.”
The coast guard tells them.
They pack their things and trade phone numbers and keep their working space close to one another.
