I have a rare condition which started as some kind of skin infection that i got when i was just a little girl.
My parents took me to hospital but the doctors there couldn’t find a cure for it.
Each day I turned paler and got sicker, this worried my parents a lot.
My father kept telling me that I was pretty and my skin looked like marble.
The doctors found out that my organs were in bad shape and they would eventually stop working.
Eventually i couldn’t eat anymore and i got tired very fast.
So my parents knew i didn’t have long to live so they took me to visit Rome my favourite city.

They took me up the highest spot so i could have a beautiful view of the city.
I stood there for a long time, long enough to witness the rising sun and have its rays warm up my smile.
Not long after the sun got up i stopped feeling the swirling wind going through my fingers, or my hair being lifted.
My feet started to feel cold and it was hard to move them, this feeling went up to my legs.
And through the rest of my body until I couldn’t move anymore.
It made my skin look just like marble.
I did not try to speak to my parents, i just felt so great being here the feeling of sickness was gone.
A butterfly was fluttering in front of my eyes which were now wide open.
The butterfly passed by me and it seemed i couldn’t close my eyes anymore.

I now remain here in my favourite spot at peace looking at how the sun rises and sets over my favourite city.
