  • Misfortunate Fortune Telling

    August 16, 2009 — With 280 words & Read — Labelled as: Story
William has been going through a hard time and went to a fortune teller to see if his life would become better any time soon.
His wife insisted he would go and see her, so he did and he goes inside a small shop.
The woman takes him into a dark room, she is wearing a robe and has a turban on her head.
Candles are the only lightning in the room, he takes a seat on a big pillow and she sits on one too in front of him.
He looks around the room, sees a lot of shiny objects, diamonds and even a skull.
The woman clears her throat and she gets his attention, on the table he sees a glass ball, tarot cards, a cup of old tea and some coins, and a human skull.
“What do you want to know.” She asks him.
“I would like to get a palm reading.” He replies without taking his eyes off the skull.
She grabs his left hand and starts her reading.
“Oh this doesn’t look good, No it don’t.” She tells him with a serious voice.
He swallows a big collection of saliva before she continues.
“You don’t have much time left on this earth, you must tie up all your loos ends.”
“I advice you to use this time to be with your loved ones, this is all I can say.”
    She tells him.
Sweat covers his face, he pays her and leaves the small shop in the small alley.
Outside he wipes the sweat of his face because of the accident his skin was burned and is more sensitive to heat.
The accident also cost him his left hand.
“Luckily its not my hand that has this misfortune.” He thinks to himself.
