  • Its The Hard-Knock Life

    June 5, 2009 — With 292 words — Read — Share
“If you think your life is tough, let me tell you about mine!”
Marlin yells at the crowd that is standing in front of him who are trying to get into the Mcdonalds behind him.

“I was born inside out, when I came out of my mother’s garden I was only a pile of mush.
Some talented doctors put me back together and wrapped me into bandages and duck-tape to hold me together.”

The crowd starts to stare and a little boy inspects Marlin’s arm.
When he lifts up a piece of bandage he can see dried up blood and flesh underneath it.
“If you think your life sucks listen to how mine is!”
The sound of the little boy vomiting in the background gets overpowered by the sound of the growing crowd of people.
    And Marlin continues..
“When I was young I always got teased at school, and I still get teased by people just because I’m different.”
Someone shouts “You smell like a dead fart!”, and people laugh and point then leave.

“It’s hard at times, I have to clean my bandages each hour all day long.
And yes I smell pretty bad too.
But I have found the perfect solution, and no people I don’t mean God.”

Before he could continue his speech some kids started to unravel his bandages, and Marlin fell into a big puddle of blood and guts.
The crowd turned away and continued shopping their ass off just because they can.

But Marlin will be remembered in a lot of ways.
He was that guy that was born inside out.
And he was that weird guy at the mall that tried to sell cleaning products.

Speakers in the mall plays the music from Annie The Musical, ‘It’s the hard-knock life‘ as his funeral music until the Arab cleaner mops his remains of the floor.
