  • It Takes A Village

    November 17, 2009 — With 282 words & Read — Labelled as: Story
It was a sunny Sunday morning and he was playing at the house next door.
He crawls into a silver white dress he found in a trunk full of old clothes while the girls weren’t paying attention.
He sticks his arms out through the top followed by his head, his small fists hold onto the fabric as he pulls it up over his blue jeans tearing the seams of the dress a bit in the process.
He posed for a moment and held a corner of the dress in his left hand, a quirky smile appeared on his face with one of the straps hanging off his shoulder.
His face show the signs of discomfort from wearing such a tight dress.
With a half smile half frown he asks one of the girls if she has any lipstick and eye shadow.
She painfully shakes her head from left to right and continues sipping her imaginary tea.
He picks up the housecat named furball senior and moves his pouting lips to the cats face, ready to give it a kiss to find out if it would turn into a prince or princess.
The cat thought otherwise and extended its nails and scratched the boy across his face.
One of the grown ups heard the cat’s cry for help and yelled at him to get out of the dress.
The cat landed on its feet and the boy jumped out of the dress and went over to the kitchen play set to play chef with one of the other girls.
He asks the girl what she’s making, pancakes she says.
He’s busy flipping the plastic saucers hoping they’d turn into pancakes eventually, he gets distracted and runs outside.
Leaving the girl behind with an empty plate.
