“It’s like I have two left feet.”, The woman explained.
Carlton looked up and gazed into the eyes of the 26ish single mother and said, “All over the world shoes were identical until the nineteenth century, when left- and right-footed shoes were invented in America.”, All of this was said while he sniffed her feet.
Minutes later she walked out of the shoe store with a pair of sneakers two sizes to small.
“Lately I have been walking much more and further than I have been used too. So i’m looking for a good pair of sport shoes.”, The man said.
Carlton looked up at the fat honorable man seated in front of him, and knew that for him a long distance would be walking from the couch to the bathroom.
“In European folklore the wearer of the Seven-league boots could take great strides of seven leagues each step, which is 21 miles or just under 35 kilometers.”, Carlton explained.
The man ended up buying a pair of sport shoes, and had put them right onto his feet.
As soon as he was out of the store he still looked exhausted and sat down on a bench.
“I’m short so I want some high heels so I look taller.”, The girl said.
Carlton looked up at the young girl while he stroked her bare feet and explained, “You know the upper classes in seventeenth-century Europe wore six-inch-high heels, they needed one servant on either side to hold them up when they wore them.”, Carlton explained.
She left the shop with a pair of clogs in her least favorite color Mikado yellow.
“Why aren’t you wearing any shoes, did you sell them?” The boy asked.
Carlton didn’t say a word and sat down on the ground and grabbed his left foot and held on to his toes and started pulling them, and somewhat like a sock the skin came off and revealed a different foot underneath.
Right when the boy threw up all over his jeans the police barge in and shot Carlton in the face right in the middle of his explanation about how shoes were originally made from animal skin.
And the boy’s rain boots were put to the ultimate test and passed, as the drops of blood glided off them not leaving a single trace.
