  • Have A Drink

    November 2, 2009 — With 551 words & Read — Labelled as: Story
He was holding a big glass between two hands and held it closely to his lips making him look like a monkey trying to taste a raindrop that’s hanging from a leaf.
Stirring the remaining liquid inside probably something alcoholic.
And taking tiny sips from it as if he was savoring every last drop.
“This drink is $3000 a glass.” He said.
    “Oh.” I said.
    I had to ask, “Why?”
“Because only I know how to make it.
I don’t have to pay $3000 to drink this, only other people do.
    It’s that good.”
He said while his lips sucked a little sip of the drink out of his glass.
He then offered me some and I refused, “No, thanks.”
‘He is kinda cute.’ I thought to myself, and I accepted the drinks I ordered from the bartender.
While I walked back to the table where my friends were waiting on me, I looked back at him for one last look.

“I think she likes you man.”, My friend said.
I was surprised by his comment, “What?! I’m the whitest guy on the planet.
If it was snowing outside and I tripped and fell in a layer of it, nobody would be able to find me.
    I would freeze to dead.”

There had never been a girl to admit she liked me.
I looked over my shoulder to her table, she was laughing with her friends.
‘Can’t believe he just looked back at you, hi hi, ha ha.’, I thought to myself.
“There’s just no way she would like me.”, I said to my friend sitting next to me at the bar.
I knew that if I didn’t do anything the only time I would see her again is each time she is getting a round of drinks for her friends.
And at some point she would be so wasted she might just go with any guy.

My friends were laughing about their adventures in business-land this week.
I couldn’t keep my eyes of 3000 dollar drink guy.
He turned around and looked at our table, I pretended to laugh along with my friends.
“Do you like him?” One of my friends asked.
I gave it some thought, “Guess, but would he like me?”
“What! You’re hawt!” Another friend said while she was shaking her head to the music.

I looked over my shoulder for a second time and found she was gone, I only saw her drunk friends laughing about whatever.
And while I turned back to the last sip left in my glass she was standing next to me.
“I wouldn’t mind trying your drink.”, She said.
I knew it must be some test, and well.. I did offer it to her before.
“Sure, take a seat.”, I said and got off the barstool.
I showed her how drinking this drink worked and she did it magnificently.
She even lifted her pinky as her sweet lips sucked in the last sip of my $3000 drink.
“In Europe it would be cheaper, about €2000.”, She said.
And then she said the most amazing thing I had ever heard coming from a girl’s mouth,
“But it tastes just like Mr. Juicer’s juicy apple juice. I thought I was the only one that loved that drink!”
“Yes, it’s what I put in I love it! And I mixed it with a little vodka for a bite.”, I said finding it hard to hold back my joy.
We spend the rest of the night sharing a glass of my expensive drink.
