A mountain of snot infested tissues has blocked the view of the bed in which Lia is in.
Covering herself with a couple of blankets she shouts at her mother “Where’s my soup!”
But no response, it’s so silent in the house she can hear the family of mice eating at their diner table.
She tries again “Moooooooooooom!” muffled from behind a tissue.
Again she hears nothing except for the mice cleaning the dishes.
Laughing when the kids cover each other with foam from the soapy water.
The cat is resting on a pillow in the corner of the room.
Purring for no visible reason, Lia figures it might be the house spirits keeping her company.
She watches the cat fall asleep, her chest is slowly moving up and down.
“MOM!” She shouts again, waking up the cat from a good dream.
The cat gets a hold of one of the tissues and is playing with it on the floor,
chasing after it and getting scared of it when it gets stuck on one of her nails.
She blows her nose which startles the cat that runs out of the room,
Lia thinks she does so to drink some milk in the kitchen.
“MOM!” Lia shouts again dropping her head onto her pillow.
Sheer joy fills the snotty tissue, relieved the attacks have stopped.
